A research assistant is required to work in the agronomy program at the Swift Current Research and Development centre. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our research endeavors, spanning both in the field and laboratory work, with a primary focus on enhancing the resilience of cropping systems through integrated crop management practices. The responsibilities of the successful candidate include, but are not limited to, planning and executing field, greenhouse, laboratory activities; collecting greenhouse gas samples; conducting rudimentary statistical analysis; and actively contributing to the preparation of technical reports and scientific manuscripts.. This position requires strong skills in project and data management. Collaboration serves as the cornerstone of our multidisciplinary research environment, and the successful candidate is expected to work closely with a diverse team committed to advancing agronomy research.

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in plant science, agronomy, soil science, or other acceptable area of specialization.

Degree equivalency

Experience in planning and conducting plot-scale or greenhouse experiments
Experience in collecting and preparing plant and soil samples for laboratory analysis
Experience in contributing to project reports, presentations, or publications

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Master of Science degree with specialization in Plant Science, Agronomy, Soil science, or a related program.

Degree equivalency

Experience in operating scientific instruments to measure plant or soil properties.
Experience in managing large dataset .
