What you will be doing:
As a member of the Risk Advisory Hub leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the Data and Analytical Insights Teams, which include banking (systemically important banks, SIBs, and small and mid-sized banks, SMSBs), insurance (life, property and casualty, and mortgage insurers), and pensions. The teams are accountable for the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the analytic tools and processes related to Supervision Sector’s data analytic insights capacity and the delivery of business intelligence (BI) related to federally regulated entities (FREs), which include banks, insurers, and pensions.

You will be providing leadership to teams that include data scientists and analytic professionals to ensure the delivery of BI that supports effective and consistent risk assessments and application of OSFI’s Supervisory Framework, including all related reporting. You are able to act as a “bridge” between data professionals (who address business needs) and financial/risk professionals (who identify business needs).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

• A degree from a post-secondary institution with specialization in data science, computer science, engineering, business, commerce, economics, finance, mathematics, actuarial science, accounting or other relevant field OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience and education.

Degree equivalency

• Extensive senior-level experience in a data and analytics/BI role.
• Demonstrated effective leadership experience at the executive-level in leading, developing, coaching, and training data and analytics professional staff.
• Extensive experience dealing with diverse and complex risk issues that require critical data and analytic solutions to address.

• A graduate degree from a post-secondary institution.
• A relevant professional designation.

Degree equivalency

• Extensive senior-level experience within the financial services industry. *

* Financial services industry experience is defined as experience working in one or more of the following areas: (a) financial institutions including banks, finance companies, trust and loan companies, insurance companies, pension plans, lending institutions or other related areas providing financial services (b) firms dealing with audits or consulting engagements to such institutions (including reinsurance brokers) (c) technology and data companies providing services to financial institutions or linked to the delivery of financial services (d) government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions (e) other relevant areas such as financial risk management, investment management, corporate treasury functions or commercial lending.
