Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established from this process which may be used to staff similar positions with a linguistic profile CBC/CBC within Environment and Climate Change Canada, with various security levels and employment tenures which may vary according to the position being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.

Candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EX1: Significant* experience conducting research and quantitative and/or qualitative analysis of economic, labour or social issues.
EX2: Significant* experience in data manipulation activities including extracting data, transforming data, maintaining, analyzing large data sets and producing data tables or graphs.
EX3: Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders and clients in a multidisciplinary project.
EX4: Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).

* Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience working on a wide-range of activities, associated with the full-time performance of the duties for approximately two (2) years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

AEX1: Experience in supervising employees and developing work objectives, timelines, defining expected results and project plans, and providing feedback.
AEX2: Experience using programming/scripting languages (such as Python, R, JavaScript, Ruby, SQL, or SAS).
AEX3: Experience performing data management activities using HR Systems such as My GCHR, SAP or other.
AEX4: Experience in developing policies, reports or strategies in one or more Human Resources disciplines.
AEX5: Significant* experience providing strategic advice and making recommendations to support senior management** decision-making.

* Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience working on a wide-range of activities, associated with the full-time performance of the duties for approximately two (2) years.
**Within the public service, “senior management” means director level and above; outside the public sector, it would include any type of executive-level decision-making person.
