Provides general maintenance, repair and labour services to support grounds, roads and facilities maintenance; construction and installations; and other general maintenance and repair requirements for the Parks Canada Agency.

Intent of the process

This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in same or other parts of the country.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

Possess or be in the process of obtaining accreditation of the Joint Association for health and safety at work in the sector of construction (ASP building).

• In grounds maintenance, including trails and paved roads ;
• In the operation of power tools, of which mechanical saw and small machinery ;
• In property maintenance.

• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment and manual or electric tools ;
• Knowledge of basic computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) in order to use a computer.

• Willingness to work on standby availability during high operation season (summer) ;

• Willingness to work with ladders, scaffoldings, at height and having the capacity to do so ;

• Accomplish tasks requiring physical force to lift charges up to 20 Kg, carry, push and pull, kneel down, bend down and raise arms over shoulders.

Conditions of employment

· Obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance ;
· Hold and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence, no restrictions attached.
