Intent of the process

This inventory will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates* which may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level with various security profiles, various tenures, using various staffing activities within IRCC.

By applying to this process, you consent to your personal application-related information being shared with other government departments interested in staffing similar positions.

IRCC has been working steadily to make changes in the way we work, including developing an action plan to implement measures set out in the Clerk's Call to Action, IRCC's Anti-Racism Value Statement and the 2020-21 Deputy Minister's Commitments. *To be qualified in a pool means that you have applied to a selection process, have been assessed in that process and have met the required merit criteria. Information on employment equity

To avoid situations of conflict of interest and conflict of duties with the goal of upholding the values and ethics of the public sector and the public interest, applicants providing immigration consulting services (both registered and unregistered, paid and/or unpaid), would be required to recuse themselves from these duties for the duration of their employment, should they be appointed to a position within Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Moreover, prospective appointees who are Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) would be required to resign from Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). Of note, a “leave of absence” from the Regulatory Council does not meet IRCC’s requirement in the matter.

The first inventory pull will begin in mid-December 2021, with the screening phase. Other screening processes will be conducted periodically, as required. You will ONLY be contacted if you are being considered for a position.

Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to a position. Some positions within IRCC may have different asset qualifications, operational requirements, or organizational needs. Consequently, if a person is appointed to a position, he/she will only be required to meet the asset qualifications, operational requirements, or organizational needs associated with that specific position. Meeting these criteria is nonetheless desirable and may be a deciding factor for the staffing of some positions.

♦♦Assessment Details♦♦

At level substantive EX-01 employees (or equivalent) and qualified candidates in an EX-01 pool may be invited for a formal or informal assessment.

Reference checks will be conducted. Please be ready to provide the names, titles, and contact information of your referees (current supervisor, previous supervisor, colleague, and subordinate).

Interviews may be conducted using traditional interviews or innovative tools such as; Artificial Intelligence platforms, video or audio submissions.

A written exam may be administered.

A copy of your performance assessment of the last two (2) years may be required (if applicable).

Random Selection, Top-down approach or cut-off score at various points in the process may be used to determine the number of qualified candidates who will be considered further in the process.

Candidates will be asked to provide proof of their education credentials at the assessment stage of this process. Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Failure to provide proof of education credentials in the form of a diploma or official transcript may result in your application not being considered further in the selection process.

Our intention is to communicate with candidates via email.
