Employees at the same group and level or equivalent and with the same employment tenure may be considered for deployment. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels will be considered in the advertised appointment process.
Duties
- Staffing and training of seasonal and student employees
- Supervision of the team of heritage presenters
- Scheduling
- Management of the gift shop
- Support for the management of service operations and visitor activities, etc.
Work environment
OBADJIWAN–FORT-TÉMISCAMINGUE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE (Duhamel-Ouest)
This national historic site is a former trading post, an enchanted forest, a beach along an immense lake, 6,000 years of Indigenous presence and two centuries of rivalry for control of the fur trade. Above all, it is a magnificent work environment located near Ville-Marie in Abitibi–Témiscamingue.
Intent of the process
This process could also be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with different employee statuses, security levels or linguistic profiles, in these same locations or elsewhere in the country.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
Degree from a recognized university or college with specialization in administration, recreation, tourism, or another relevant discipline, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a field related to the duties of the position.
- Experience in delivering cultural and/or natural heritage
- Experience in training and supervising staff and managing financial resources
- Experience in collaborating and communicating with stakeholders

* OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS *
- Agree to wear the Parks Canada uniform as required.
- Be willing to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends, statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, as required.
- Be willing to be exposed to variable weather conditions while travelling between facilities and to work outdoors.
- Deal with the stress of meeting visitors’ varied and unpredictable requests and requirements.
