The duties of the Finance and Administration Manager position involve managing the financial services and financial planning of a Field Unit of moderate size and complexity, comprising one national park and two national historic sites, with a particular focus on compliance with the financial policies of the Parks Canada Agency and the federal government.

This requires close monitoring of the financial budget, and collaboration with colleagues in various departments.

Teamwork will be essential for the person in this position, both in their supervisory role with team members, and in their strategic advisory role with management unit executives.

Part of the job also involves overseeing various administrative services, whether for computer equipment, store supplies, managing the administrative office of the operations centre or managing capital assets.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

· Recognized bachelor's degree with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience relevant to the duties of the position.


· Eligibility for an accounting designation granted by a recognized professional association. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified General Accountant (CGA).

Degree equivalency

· Significant experience* in planning and managing the delivery of financial and administrative services, and in preparing, analyzing and interpreting budgets and financial and administrative reports ;

· Significant experience* in team supervision ;

· Experience in the research and interpretation of financial and administrative laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and in providing strategic advice in this area to management and employees ;

· Experience in the use of financial management software (e.g. SAP, Excel, BI, Oracle).

*Significant experience is defined as experience of a depth and breadth that would normally be acquired over a period of two years.
