Contributing to scientific hypothesis building and design of experiments.
Sample collection, DNA extraction, molecular characterization (PCR), and next-generation sequencing of soil and root samples.
Some new method development.
Data analysis using R, QIIME2, and other statistical software as required.
Responsible for drafting a peer-reviewed publication.
Working in a team environment, in a lab and greenhouse settings, and field work component

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
Currently enrolled in a Master’s program with a specialization in soil, plant and microbe interactions, related to agriculture at the University of Alberta.
Experience* in science wet-lab work
Experience* in field work
*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
