This position is located in Ottawa; however, the successful candidate may work from one of the OSFI offices across Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, or Vancouver).

The Chief of Staff leads and oversees the sector’s Central Operations Team (COT) which acts as the key point of contact for strategic priorities and manages operational activities, to enable the Policy, Innovations, and Stakeholder Affairs (PISA) to better focus on core work. The COT provides support to PISA leadership team by managing and/or contributing to activities that improve on operational effectiveness. The COT is responsible for coordinating the strategic plan and budgets, sector-wide reporting, performance measurement and communication, central office functions and acting as a key contact for divisional and sectoral “asks”.
In this context, the Chief of Staff is responsible for the success of the team, managing human resources, and representing both the COT at sector senior leadership meetings, and sector on the OSFI Planning Group (and other similar bodies).
OSFI is an independent federal government agency that regulates and supervises more than 400 federally regulated financial institutions and 1,200 pension plans to determine whether they are in sound financial condition. In fulfilling its mandate, OSFI supports the government's objective of contributing to public confidence in the Canadian financial system.

💵 Compensation: OSFI offers a competitive salary, and employees may be eligible for in-range increases and economic adjustments. Salaries are based on qualifications, experience and knowledge. The Public Service Pension Plan is a defined benefits pension plan (indexed for inflation), where both the employer and the employee contribute.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
- Graduation with a degree* from a post-secondary institution OR an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.
*The term "degree" refers to a baccalaureate or a higher-level degree, as established by educational authorities.
- Significant* experience in providing strategic advice, recommendations, and briefings to senior level officials (ADM and above) on complex matters.
- Significant* experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing business operations, including human and financial resources, plans, budgets, monitoring, reporting and analysis.
- Significant* experience in providing strategic leadership and direction in the development and implementation of complex initiatives, programs, strategies, or operational service delivery.
*Significant is defined in terms of both depth and breadth of experience that is normally acquired by performing the tasks continuously over a minimum period of three (3) years.

- Experience working in an Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Deputy Minister, Vice President, Chief Executive Office or Deputy Minister Office (or equivalent) in a senior advisory capacity.
