Work environment

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (OCEO) is located at 30 Victoria Street, in the heart of downtown Gatineau. Our location is easily accessible and is located near Place du Portage and just a few kilometers away from downtown Ottawa.

• The positions require on-site presence from time to time at an Elections Canada workplace. Attendance requirements may increase during election periods.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to fill 2 TERM positions.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff positions at the same group and level or equivalent within the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer with various linguistics profiles: French or English essential, bilingual imperative (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC) on a temporary or permanent basis.

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

*Experience providing administrative support services.
**Experience in providing service to clients.

*Administrative support services is defined as, for example, but not limited to: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, data entry and other related duties.

**Providing service to clients is defined as, but is not limited to: answering telephone calls, providing assistance to clients, serving the public, etc.).

Client Service

AE1: Experience working in a call center.
AE2: Experience in managing an executive’s calendar and correspondence.
AE3: Experience using Excel for data entry and spreadsheets manipulation.
AE4: Experience in the preparation of reports. (This could include, but is not limited to: Preparation of reports is defined as, updating tracking systems, compiling information, verifying accuracy of information and/or formatting documents.
AE5: Experience in making travel arrangements and processing travel claims.
AE6: Experience in the provision of financial support services.
AE7: Experience in entering and verifying data into a computerized system
