Work environment

Our Application Development Team is growing and is looking for a qualified Power Platform Developer to join us. You will have the opportunity to learn new things as you work as part of a team in applying modern design principles to new and existing solutions for the RCMP in BC. Moreover, you will be able to work alongside different projects branching across multiple teams within the RCMP.

You’ll also be in an environment that helps you establish a positive work/life balance, providing hybrid work from home options, flexible scheduling (such as completing your hours of work over 8 or 9 days instead of 10 in a two-week period) and a number of amenities including a gym and full service cafeteria on site at our E-Division Headquarters near King George Station, in Surrey.

Person(s) may be able to work Telework up to 3 days per week, upon approval of the manager.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff a position for a 12-month period with possibility of extension.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future permanent or temporary vacancies (including terms, actings, casuals, assignments and secondments) in similar-level positions (at full or part-time hours, including shift-work). Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

• Experience using Power Platform related SDKs (eg. XRM SDK) to create plugins

• Knowledge of JavaScript

Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.

This process and the resulting pool will only be used to staff positions in the RCMP.

References that are not reachable and/or not available are lowering the candidates’ chances to be found fully qualified and be considered for appointment. When providing names of references, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they are available to respond in a timely manner.
