Duties

• Inspect, operate and maintain water and wastewater system
• Operate seasonal campground small water system
• Water testing, sampling, recording and reporting
• Perform code compliance inspection
• Other general operation and maintenance duties as assigned
• Possess “Operation of Small Drinking Water System Certificate or willing and capable of obtaining one at employer’s cost.

Pukaskwa National Park's exceptional beauty is revealed in its vistas of Lake Superior and in the rugged, ancient landscape of the Canadian shield and northern forest. The spirit of the wilderness envelopes those who explore this special place. The only wilderness national park in Ontario, Pukaskwa protects 1878 square km of an ecosystem that features boreal forest and Lake Superior shoreline.

Intent of the process

This process (will OR may) be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures (permanent, seasonal, temporary, casual, part-time and full-time) security levels or linguistic (profiles OR requirements) in same or other parts of the country.

• Operation of small drinking water system certificate
• SVOP Certificate

ASSET QUALIFICATION
• Experience in general routine operation, installation, maintenance and inspection related to small potable water system, sewage system and facility

Conditions of employment

• Obtain and maintain Reliability Security Status
• Possess and maintain a valid Class G driver’s license
• Complete a pre-employment medical (and periodic medical assessments)
• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment
• Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions and remote location
• Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and
provincial/territorial holidays, when required
