Applications will be screened for interviews, based on the “essential” education, language and experience criteria identified below. Following the interview process, successful candidates who are assessed as having met all the “essential” qualifications outlined below, will be placed in a qualified pool of candidates. Both “essential” and “additional” qualifications will be assessed through the interview process. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification during this interview process.
When a new work position becomes available, supervisors will then review the full assessments of the qualified candidate’s (looking at both “essential” and “additional” qualifications) to determine which qualified candidate is the “best fit” for a given position. Supervisors may undertake additional evaluation measures (interview, reference check etc.) with a short-listed group of two or more individuals, to further refine their understanding of the best fit at that time.

On November 8th, 2021, the Parks Canada Agency announced the details of its vaccination requirement for all employees.
As per the Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for Parks Canada Agency, employees must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate, determinate (term), casual, as and when required, and student hiring (full-time, part-time and seasonal). The Visitor Experience Facilities Auditor (Visitor Experience Product Development Officer (VEPDO) III is part of a team of five, responsible for the development, coordination and evaluation of new and improved visitor experience products including services, facilities, recreational activities, trails, signs, publications, volunteer programs and special events.
The Facilities Auditor’s duties as part of the VEPDO team will be to deliver on these elements with a focus on auditing facilities, sites and services with the focus on assessing inclusivity and opportunities to make improvements for all people including those with a range of disabilities.
Work is a combination of duties carried out both in and out of an office environment. Duties include spending time at sites and facilities throughout the parks to conduct site visits and audits.
The successful candidate will:
• Provide visitor experience product and service development advice, guidance and support to facilitate meaningful experiences for visitors.
• Research and evaluate new and existing visitor experience products.
• Recommend products, services and facility enhancements.
• Prepare and present analyses, assessments and reports.
• Recommend and assist with communications products, including publications, signs and website content.
• Attend and organize meetings to collaborate with staff, partners and stakeholders both via e-mail and phone when in-person meetings are not logistically possible.

Graduation from post-secondary studies (minimum of 2-year program) in marketing, tourism, recreation, leisure or museum studies, or other discipline relevant to the position or acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
• Experience in the development, coordination and evaluation of visitor experience opportunities (e.g. park facilities, recreational products and activities, accommodations, trails) with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility of facilities and services for people with a range of physical, mental, cognitive, learning and sensory disabilities;
• Experience in matching target market and audience needs and matching them to visitor experience opportunities with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility of facilities and services for people with a range of physical and mental challenges;
• Experience in collaborating with staff, partners and varied stakeholders in the context of improving universal access for visitor experiences;
• Experience in providing advice to managers and staff.

Conditions of employment
• Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance;
