Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill an English essential FO-02 position for an determinate period of one year.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
Graduation with a degree in forestry or a related science from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with acceptable experience.
Experience coordinating, planning, developing and conducting forest research studies or projects.
Experience preparing and delivering presentations.
Experience using knowledge transfer techniques and mechanisms.

Knowledge of climate change impacts to forest ecosystems and adaptation in forest management.
Knowledge of federal and provincial forest and land management acts and regulations.
Knowledge of operational forestry or forestry research principles and techniques.

Experience preparing journal publications.
Experience supervising staff and students.
Knowledge of theories and principles of forest science, silviculture, forest management, ecology and GIS.
Knowledge of forest inventory and analysis.
Knowledge of forest disturbance monitoring.
Knowledge of forest growth and yield modeling.
Ability to apply digital and analog cartographic techniques to produce maps and charts according to specifications and standards.
Ability to plan and manage human and financial resources.
Ability to organize work and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines and changes in priorities.
