Essential Qualifications:

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent experience working in food services within a commercial or institutional setting
*Experience in the preparation and distribution of short order cooking (*for GS-FOS-03 positions only)

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of food preparation and service techniques (e.g. portion control, measuring ingredients, operating kitchen equipment etc.)
Knowledge of preparation and food handling procedures
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements, hygiene and sanitation practices
Knowledge of safe lifting and carrying techniques

Asset Qualifications:

EDUCATION
Successful completion of a secondary school diploma
Possession of a valid recognized Safe Food Handling Program certification
Professional Culinary Art diploma

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience working with cash register or Point of sale system
Experience working in a correctional environment (institutional or community office)

Information on employment equity

CSC is advertising FOS-02/03 processes for multiple locations. Should you have already been assessed for a FOS-02/03 position with CSC, you may be able to transfer your results to this process. Should you wish to be re-evaluated, you may do so after a waiting period of 90 days.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
