▻ On November 8th, 2021, the Parks Canada Agency announced the details of its vaccination requirement for all employees. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate, determinate (term), casual, as and when required, and student hiring (full-time, part-time and seasonal). Duties

As Cultural Heritage Manager, you will lead a team of technical specialists in planning, developing, and implementing projects and programs supporting Parks Canada's mandate and policies related to Cultural Heritage. You will work in partnership and cooperation with Inuit to ensure that Inuit cultural heritage is collected, shared, and used in the management of Nunavut's seven Parks Canada sites. You will ensure that the hundreds of known cultural resources in these sites are protected and managed following Parks Canada policies and shared in appropriate ways with Canadians through a variety of methods of communication. Your work will include planning and implementing fieldwork in spectacular locations rich in cultural heritage and Inuit history.

This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in same or other parts of Nunavut and Canada.

Degree equivalency

•Experience in the management of human and financial resources
•Experience providing advice on cultural heritage management issues to senior managers and/or multidisciplinary teams
•Experience managing, developing and implementing projects related to cultural or heritage resources, including applied fieldwork
•Experience managing complex files and issues around heritage-related matters

Operational Requirements
•Willingness to complete training provided by Parks Canada
•Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment
•Willingness to fly in and work closely with both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters
•Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain and weather conditions
•Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

•Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) *May be required depending on the position*
