*Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination*
On November 8th, 2021, the Parks Canada Agency announced the details of its vaccination requirement for all employees.

As per the Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for Parks Canada Agency, employees must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate, determinate (term), casual, as and when required, and student hiring (full-time, part-time and seasonal). Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to ensure terms and conditions of employment are met, the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete a vaccination attestation form.

Duties

Operates and maintains medium, heavy and specialized vehicles and equipment including a Vacuum truck, as well as various manual and power tools; and performs ancillary labour services for the Parks Canada Agency.

Work environment

You will be working in the Lake Louise/Yoho/Kootenay Field Unit. You will be driving a vacuum truck and working as a team to ensure the toilets are pumped and the waste is brought back to the Waste/Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Lake Louise, AB for treatment.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic profiles in same or other parts of the country.

Occupational Certification
• Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brake Certification

Experience
• In operating heavy equipment, preference may be given to those who have experience with a vacuum truck specifically;
• Performing basic vehicle and equipment maintenance.

• Heavy equipment maintenance and repair;
• Health & Safety practices, including safety measures/ regulations common to heavy equipment operations.

• Operate heavy equipment (including a Vacuum truck), as well as various manual and power tools;
• Visually inspect equipment and perform pre/post trip maintenance;
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Operational Requirements
• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and personal protective equipment;
• Willingness to work in variable weather conditions;
• Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays

Conditions of employment

• Security Screening: Obtain and maintain Reliability status
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brake Certification
