Assessment accommodation

We will only accept online applications received via the GC Jobs website.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet the Education and Experience criteria listed in the Statement of Qualifications. Applicants must list both of these factors in their cover letter, and then write one or two paragraphs for each demonstrating how they meet these factors by providing concrete examples. Please note that it is not sufficient to only state that these factors are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Resumes will be used as a secondary source to validate the experience described in the cover letter.

Applications will be screened for interviews, based on the “essential” education, language and experience criteria identified below. Following the interview process, successful candidates who are assessed as having met all the “essential” qualifications, will be placed in a qualified pool of candidates. “Essential” qualifications will be assessed through the interview process. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification during this interview process.

When a new work position becomes available, supervisors will then review the full assessments of the qualified candidates to determine which qualified candidate is the “right fit” for a given position. Supervisors may undertake additional evaluation measures (interview, reference check, etc.) with a short-listed group of two or more individuals, to further refine their understanding of the best fit at that time.

Failure to clearly demonstrate in your cover letter how you meet the Education and Experience factors found on the Statement of Qualifications, may result in the rejection of your application.

Normally, applicants will not be solicited for incomplete or possible missing information.
