Duties
You will work in an environment where a high volume of calls, payment requests and/or reports are received. Due to high volume of work, you will learn how to prioritize your day as you will have continuous interruptions, responding to inquires of colleagues and/or clients. This could be an opportunity for you to develop new skills and further develop skills you already have; such skills include attention to detail, improved computer skills, client service orientation, conflict management, workload management and prioritization.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, some employees of Indigenous Services Canada are currently working remotely. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their usual workspaces. Therefore, this opportunity may initially be a remote working opportunity. When it is deemed safe to return to the workplace, the opportunity will be in an Indigenous Services Canada office.
Intent of the process
This process aims to create and maintain an inventory of applications that may be used to fill various term or indeterminate appointment opportunities. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to fill similar positions, in various locations and tenures.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in providing advice and frontline services to clients.
• Experience in researching and analyzing information and using it to make recommendations on policy, program or client-related issues.
• Experience participating in the implementation, maintenance and/or use of databases, tracking systems or spreadsheets.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license.
• Willing and able to travel; this could include travel to remote locations and by small boats or small aircraft or automobile.
• Willing and able to work overtime with short notice.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
• Hours of work rotate between 8:00 - 4:00, 8:30 - 4:30 and 9:00 - 5:00, Monday through Friday.

◦ Why was my application automatically rejected when I submitted it?
In order to be placed in the inventory, you must meet the essential education qualification at the time you submit your application. If you receive a message "Application rejected at screening" immediately after submitting your application, you probably answered "No" to the screening question assessing the essential qualification of education. If you have incorrectly indicated "No" for this qualification, simply retrieve your application and update your answer to the screening question.
◦ What happens if my application expires?
Your application will be kept in the inventory for 90 days. A notice will be posted in the "My Job File" menu of your account 10 days before your application expires. If you do not take this into account, your application will be deactivated and it will no longer be considered for submissions from this inventory. In the event that your application expires during the effective period of this inventory, a notice will be posted in your account. If you wish to confirm your interest and reactivate your application, select the "Renewal of my application" link.
