Duties
In an inspiring environment filled with history, you will join the External Relations team of the Mauricie and Western Quebec Field Unit which administers La Mauricie National Park. You will work closely with a team of marketing communications professionals to develop and implement integrated communications plans with other functions (web, partnership, marketing). You will be responsible for maintaining relationships with numerous internal clients and various departments within the Parks Canada Agency. Always on the lookout for trends and best practices in social networks and in the field of cultural and outdoor tourism, you will implement innovative, adapted and effective strategies.
Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal agency responsible for protecting and presenting Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources by administering a system of 47 national parks, five national marine conservation areas, 174 national historic sites and one national urban park, located in all regions of the country.
As cornerstones of Canada’s tourism industry, Parks Canada-administered sites are committed to providing visitors with high-quality and meaningful experiences and to supporting tourism in communities across the country.
Intent of the process
This process aims to fill a 6 months’ position for La Mauricie National Park in La Mauricie or Montreal with the possibility of extension.
A partially or fully qualified pool of candidates may be established to staff similar positions within Parks Canada, with various tenures, linguistic profiles and/or operational requirements.

EDUCATION
- Degree from a recognized university with specialization in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or another discipline relevant to the positions, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in media relations.
- Experience in assisting with the development of communications products, including press releases, newsletters and information analysis materials.
- Experience in content creation and social media community management.
- At least two years of work experience in public relations or communications.

Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance
Agree to wear a Parks Canada uniform, when required.
Willing to work occasional irregular hours, overtime, weekends, statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays.
Hold a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
