Duties

• Work with maintenance staff to develop Statements of Work for maintenance service contracts and maintenance projects
• Work with Correctional Service Canada (CSC's) procurement to request contracts and support contract administration
• Manage and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by maintaining user accounts, updating locations, assets and implementing preventative and legislative maintenance schedules
• Extract and examine data from the CMMS in order to establish compliance reports and statistics for maintenance activities
• Provide support to management for site managed capital and construction/maintenance projects by liaising with the Regional Facilities office to ensure that site-managed projects have been appropriately documented and concerns and priorities are identified
• Assist in the implementation, development and annual review of facilities maintenance specific Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs and related training

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to identify qualified candidates for current and anticipatory staffing needs for Maintenance Specialist positions with Correctional Service Canada in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

Staffing needs include permanent, temporary (term) and casual (maximum 90 working days in a calendar year) employment opportunities.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience providing facility maintenance services in a large complex*
*Large complex can be defined as a correctional institution, hospital, airport, shopping mall, university, etc.

Experience managing or maintaining a preventative maintenance program

Experience providing advice or guidance to management related to maintenance activities

Experience using word processing software, spreadsheet software and an email platform

Graduation with a college diploma in engineering technology or another discipline related to the position
Applicable provincial or interprovincial certification required to perform the duties of the position

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience interpreting architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings, work orders, specifications or manufacturers data
Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System
Experience developing requests for project proposals

SELECTION PROCESS STAGES
This selection process has three stages:
Stage 1 - Screening
