Within this context, the Greenhouse and Processing Crops Research Centre (GPCRC), one of AAFC's national network of 19 research centres, invites applications for a Research Scientist position with specialization in soil microbiology. The Centre, located in Harrow (Southwestern Ontario), conducts world-class research in the area of sustainable crop production, soil, water and air quality.
The focus of the incumbent's research will be on plant-soil microbe interactions, and how these can be exploited for optimizing crop production and soil quality to the benefit of the environment. The incumbent will apply their expertise in molecular microbial ecology to help resolve challenges impacting sustainable agriculture in the Great Lakes basin. Expected outcomes of the incumbent's research will be new knowledge concerning soil-microbe-plant interactions that will be exploited for the development of innovative crop production practices and technologies.
